We light some candles, we pour some wine, we have dinner.

Afterwards we leash up the dogs, grab a jar full of fish food and head out to the blackberry bushes that surround the pond.  There are a lot of hungry little fish in the pond, plus one big bass named Julia Roberts (HUGE MOUTH bass) and two fat catfish named Mabel and Label.

After the dogs have mellowed out (daily walks are VERY EXCITING!!! for them) and the fish have been fed, we pick dessert.

The dogs sometimes pick their own dessert…

With a full basket we come in and whip up a blackberry compote to scoop over a shortcake (or two!).

And that’s dessert, our delicious Springtime nightly ritual.
